Recipe search app: What kind of technology do I need?

I work as an Interaction Designer, and every now and then I get a kick out of creating demos and proof of concepts. Part of the concept this time is to create a recipe search without a search box.

For this I need to get some content, put it in a search index, and get the content out again and present it to the user. Here’s the stack of technology I’ve thought out so far:

  1. Getting content
    Scrapy
  2. Search enginge
    Elasticsearch
  3. Middleware
    Elastic.js, a plugin to Node.js
  4. Frontend
    AngularJS
  5. Some UI-fun to replace the search box
    TouchSwipe + jQuery

So, as a UX-person, will I be able to make this work? Scrapy I’ve already used, so that’s not an issue. I’ll keep you updated every time I get to do some work.

Also, to better explain what I want to create I’ll post some mock-ups of the main concept and interaction later.

Disagree, have a comment or want to pitch in? Youre thoughts are more than welcome =)
