Designing purses, part 2

Since last blog post about becomming a purse designer I’ve continued with idea #2. First task was to decide on proportions for the purse and all the different parts. That was last friday. Today I’ve been working on the hinges, connectiong the two parts that form the outer shell.

Not sure yet, but I might order parts for a functioning prototype or two next week. Then I’ll get to test if the design works. The idea is to attach LED-lights on the inside of the outer shell. They will light up when you open the purse.

First design iteration finished. Handles and hinges will be made from aluminum sheets. The outer shell will be acrylic and the lining some sort of semi rigid plastic + black rubber (end walls).

Aluminum parts to be ordered.

First visual prototype, testing the idea.

Disagree, have a comment or want to pitch in? Youre thoughts are more than welcome =)
